A gabion box is a strong-structure with hexagonal or rectangular holes wire mesh typically filled with rocks, stones, or other durable materials. These containers are commonly used in civil engineering and landscaping projects for purposes such as creating retaining walls, erosion control barriers, and flood protection structures. Gabion boxes are constructed from galvanized wire mesh, which provides strength and durability while allowing for natural drainage and vegetation growth within the structure. They are versatile and cost-effective solutions for various construction and environmental applications.

The wire utilized in crafting the double twisted hexagonal wire mesh undergoes a process of hot-dip galvanization. This involves soft annealing of low carbon content mild steel wire, followed by the application of a heavy zinc coating in accordance with IS 280, EN10224, and ASTM A 641 standards. To enhance resilience in aggressive natural environments, an additional layer of advanced Polymer/Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) coating, uniformly 0.50mm thick, is applied.
